What is the first visit like?

Your first visit includes a detailed intake and a non-invasive assessment designed to understand how the nervous system is currently functioning. From there, recommendations are made based on your individual findings, goals, and stage of life. Care plans are clear, transparent, and designed to be supportive and sustainable for families. We prioritize education, communication, and progress tracking so you always know what to expect. The initial visit is approximately 1 hr.

Who needs chiropractic care?

What is an adjustment like?

Accepted Answer

We first start off with releasing the fascia of the body. These contacts are gentle and specific, using our fingertips with pressure similar to acupressure. We then will release any muscle tensional patterns which can feel similar to a massage or trigger point. Lastly, if the body has stored tension within the spine that is when we do an adjustment on the spine, but the body is ready to go back into alignment as we have already released out the tension in the soft tissue so it just takes a flick of a finger to make this adjustment. Many find the adjustment feels like deep relaxation and immediate relief and change. It is common to have emotions release with the adjustment and feel more relaxed and in a lighter mood.

Why would a newborn or baby get adjusted?

Birth, no matter if it is vaginal or a C-section, can be stressful on the infant’s head and neck. Studies have found that 98% of infants have a misalignment at the top segment of the spine, the Atlas, after birth. Nerves that exit at this area go to innervate the cheek, tongue, neck and digestive tract. This tension creates misalignments that can cause challenges with breastfeeding, development, and digestion.

Are pediatric and infant adjustments gentle?

Yes. Pediatric and infant chiropractic adjustments involve no twisting, popping, or cracking. The amount of pressure used is very light, often compared to the pressure needed to test the ripeness of a tomato, and is specific to a child’s size, age, and stage of development. Our doctors have completed additional pediatric training in cranial work,  the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), and PX Docs, allowing care to be specifically tailored to the child’s needs.

Can my child be adjusted if they won't sit still?

We meet the child, or any individual, where they are at. For many children, the adjustment may happen in the play area while they are sitting or moving around with toys. It is not necessary for the child to lay still for the adjustment, we actually like them to wiggle and squirm as their body releases the tension and normalizes into higher levels of nervous system processing.

Yes. As a Webster Technique certified family chiropractor, we provide safe, gentle chiropractic care during pregnancy using specialized equipment designed for comfort and safety. We have a specifically designed pillow that will allow you to lie face down without putting any pressure on your stomach, making it comfortable and safe for both you and baby. What age can receive care?

We have seen newborns as early as 2 days old all the way to 80+ years young! The adjustment is gentle and specifically designed to address these special populations. The amount of pressure used in the adjustment for children is the amount of pressure you would use to touch a ripe tomato.

What is the Webster Technique?

The Webster Technique is a specialized analysis and chiropractic adjustment for pregnant women, designed to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation or Sacroiliac joint dysfunction. The technique combines sacral adjustments and soft tissue releases to restore function and balance to the pelvis which prepares the pelvis for the changes that occur during pregnancy and birth.  The adjustment is used to restore proper bio-mechanics and neurological function in the pelvic girdle and the adjustment frequently results in optimal fetal positioning.

Can Chiropractic help a Breech baby?

Yes, chiropractic adjustments restore proper bio-mechanics of the mother’s pelvis which can provide baby with more room to get into the optimal head down position. The female pelvis is made up of bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments that hold the important reproductive organs. Any misalignment, or subluxation, in the spine or pelvic bones can create tension in the muscles and ligaments inside the pelvic girdle. A specific ligament release and sacral adjustment prepares the pelvis for the changes that occur during pregnancy and birth by creating a state of ease and balance in the pelvic structures.  This results in ample room for baby to grow, develop and move into the proper birthing position.

How often should I come in?

During the initial visit, we will do an assessment that calculates a functional score which clearly demonstrates the ability for your nervous system to communicate. This assessment gives us a clear recommendation based on your body and specific needs. We will then make an individualized plan for you based on your healthcare goals.

Question 13

How long is a typical visit?

The first visit (including the consultation, assessment, and the first adjustment) is about 1 hr in length. The second visit is 30 minutes in length as we we will review your assessment, the changes you noticed, and a follow up adjustment. Afterwards, adjustments take 15-20 minutes.

Do you accept insurance?

Accepted Answer

We are out-of-network with all insurances, however, we do accept Flex Spending / Health Savings cards. If your insurance plan offers out-of-network coverage or benefits, we can provide itemized statements for you to submit to your insurance for direct reimbursement.
